The Operation plan of Global Environmental Education Parntership (GEEP)Asia- Pacific Regional Center : 2020-2021

Environmental Protection Administration of Taiwan and the US Environmental Protection Agency jointly launched the Global Environmental Education Partnership (the GEEP) in 2014. The main topics include education for climate change, national-level support for environmental education, the formulation and legalization of global environmental education standards, and educator training and professional development. The project is dedicated to promote regional and global environmental education and facilitate network of cooperation to address common environmental challenges. To improve regional cooperation, the GEEP Asia-Pacific Center (APRC) was established in Taiwan in 2019. The center is responsible for cooperation and knowledge exchange with experts from governments, industry, academia, and non-governmental organizations in the Asia-Pacific region, and promotes Taiwan’s outstanding achievements and experience in global environmental education to the Asia-Pacific region and the world. At the same time, the center will continue to implement talent training, integrate educational resources, and develop action plans to enhance the regional and the international capacity to respond to environmental changes, and form a transnational network for sustainable development cooperation. The implementation period of the GEEP APRC project started from October 6th 2020 to October 31st 2021. Working targets are listed below: 1. Operate the Asia-Pacific Center of Global Environmental Education Partners: organize an advisory team of the Asia-Pacific Center and handle related meetings. The team includes 11 people from seven countries in the Asia-Pacific region, the United States and their nationalities, and holds four online conferences. Strategic development and operation planning: Organized an external consultation meeting on the strategic development of the APRC and propose the operation planning of the center. 2. Strategic development and operation method planning: Organize an external consultation meeting on the strategic development of the Asia-Pacific Center, with 25 participants, and propose a plan for the operation of the Asia-Pacific Center, which is led by Professor Wang Hongjun of Donghua University. 3. Handle talent training and experience sharing in the Asia-Pacific region: A.Organized environmental education and training courses for the youth in Asia-Pacific countries, aiming to improve their knowledge of environmental sustainability, environmental literacy and awareness of the topic, and then to promote the current situation and achievements of Taiwan’s works to other countries B.Handle youth environmental education training courses in Asia-Pacific countries (two sessions, 18 and 36 trainees respectively), with a view to enhancing trainees’ knowledge of environmental sustainability, strengthening environmental literacy, and Awareness of the topic, and then promote the current situation and achievements of our country’s work to other countries; C.Organize international exchange workshops in the Asia-Pacific region (one session, 24 physical participants (including 8 Taiwan speakers, 6 hosts, and 10) Experts, scholars and practitioners were invited to participate in the conference,and the number of online participants is 125), and environmental education experts, scholars, practitioners, school teachers, and non-governmental organizations in the Asia-Pacific region are invited to participate. 4.Handle information exchanges and partner contacts in the Asia-Pacific region:Handle the integration and marketing of partner resources of the Asia Pacific Center, including collecting the contact list of environmental education partners in the Asia-Pacific region and assisting in maintaining the eePro Global Forum of Global Environmental Education Partners (GEEP). Participating in 13 online conferences and posting 3 related articles. The entire list of partners is a list of 50 units in 9 countries. 5.Set up the Asia-Pacific Center website and related visual graphic design (one type of website, one main vision and one sample presentation).
